Give Australia Post Your Business?

Nooooo a crash course in reading between the lines.

Giving Australia Post your business, does not mean hiring them to do the deliveries for you, it means your going to lose so much money and time, dealing with all the problems they give you, that your going to be giving your business away.

The typical loss rate - shit getting stolen etc in transit, is around 15%.

The slow deliveries, starting with a service that guarantees to only replace the satchel, if they don't deliver it over night - neither of which they do.

And in the days, weeks, or months that follow - your customers won't mind....

Buying from some one who isn't dumb enough to still keep using Australia Post - with it's idiot CEO, "Mr Master Mind", with his illuminated press releases.

A $2.8 million bonus.

For fucking what?

I mean - these complex multi-issue complaint types, are the norm.

And for the recipient of this service, it's just one huge time, effort and money suck.

Time, after Time, after Time.

Passport non-delivery
1 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 08, 2016

Well my bad experience with Australia Post continues. Received communications from Australia Post that a passport was waiting for collection at Toowong Business Centre.

The following day we went to the BC to pick it up but advised for some unknown reason the passport which was in Toowong had been sent to St Lucia post office!

Seriously this type of business practice is totally unacceptable. We have better things to do than drive around the locality tracking down our items.

Hi Jack,
What a pain!
What was the tracking number for this?
Steph.

Jack

We no longer have the Pick-up card/tracking number as this was handed in on Saturday morning 5th November at approx 11:15-11:25am at the St Lucia post office - address 1/25 Hawkes Drive St Lucia. I'm sure you could telephone them on (07) 3871 0799 to confirm and they will have the tracking number.

I doubt there would be too many other passport pickups at that exact date/time. The officer was most helpful but at a loss to explain how this happened. As you can appreciate passports are important documents and having them not available at Toowong as promised cause significant concern. Please provide an explaination as what happened.

Hi Jack,
If you have collected the parcel then the Post Office won't have your tracking number unfortunately.
This could have been a mistake on the drivers behalf, who may have left you the incorrect collection card, or taken the parcel the wrong Post Office. Without the tracking number I'm unable to say for sure what has happened.

What an unsatisfactory response, you seem to be implying it is somehow my fault because I didn't note the tracking number. Did you even bother to ring the post office?

Your response simply reinforces the stereotype that many people have of Australia Post - a non responsive organisation, error prone, over charges for their bad service and has no intention of resolving their issues. Reminds me a lot of Telecom. The sooner a competitor is allowed into the postal market the better for Australia. I will be sending this discussion to my local parliamentarian. Hopefully more people with issues will do the same.

Hi Jack,
I didn't call the Post Office, as they don't record the tracking numbers for parcels that are awaiting collection at their outlet.
Do you still have the packaging for the item, as the tracking number will be there. Did the passport office send you an email with the tracking number?
As advised, there's no way I'd be able to tell you definitely what has happened without getting the tracking number and following up that way.

Completely unreliable!!! Late & lost!

1 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 07, 2016

I sell on eBay and sadly need to rely on Australia post.. since they put their prices up in January the service has been atrocious!

I have a HUGE amount of complaints about late or lost items! Mainly late....really late! Beyond frustrating to have my business in the hands of Australia post!

Australia Post Official

Hi Sharon,
I know it can be frustrating when parcels take longer than expected.
If you have any specific parcels or outstanding cases you need help with, let me know.

Good Morning,

I have had 17 complaint messages regarding late or lost items in the last month. All except 1 are standard post or priority with no tracking.

The other has not got tracking but I do have proof of posting for an international package that never arrived.

The ones that have arrived late range from 10 days to be delivered to 24 days within Australia. The worst I had was 7 weeks earlier in the year.

You would have to agree that it is a long time to wait!

I had one very angry customer who only lives a 1 hour drive away tell me her items took over a week to arrive.

I have sold on Ebay for 10 years. 8 of those years in the UK. I have never ever received a negative feedback until this month. I now have 2 all because of Australia post. Devastating! I have one other neutral that is also because of a lost item.

I feel completely helpless. I post twice a day to get them away quickly, then Australia post drops the ball & I get the blame.

Regards

Hi Sharon,

It's really disappointing that this is affecting your business
Without tracking numbers, we're not able to investigate the whereabouts of parcels.

Have you looked into sending your parcels via Click&Send? This will ensure all of your parcels are sent with tracking in the future.

Oh no, not again! Where's another of my item???

1 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 08, 2016

Another of my parcel is missing after a missed delivery notice 21/10, for pickup at Roseville PO. I called cust Svc telling them I already indicated Chatswood PO as my preferred delivery PO, but my parcel was sent again to Roseville PO (w/c couldn't locate my parcels a couple of times before, and don't answer calls and emails even from main PO!). They said the parcel would be sent to Chatswood PO, but up to now, after 3 calls and an investigation request from the sender, I haven't heard fr PO. They said Chatswood doesn't have it and Rosevill e PO hasn't taken their calls nor replied to their emails. What's wrong with this PO, and can't they do anything about this? This has cost me fares, gasoline and express / registered postage for online purchases.
Case no. 079-464-77. I'm already compiling a file of complaints to send to the CEO.

Angry Customer
Posties are an absolute joke!

First collection card i received in my letterbox had my neighbour's name on it with a different neighbour's address!

Second collection card I received instructed me to go to Broadway NSW - staff told me there was no such parcel and they couldn't locate it as postie hadn't bothered to write down a reference number - was only my new $300 passport you nearly lost though so no big deal...
