It's a principle based issue.
If I am hiring a company, a government dept, that has a dubious record, and I ask them for a copy of their internal records on customer complaints, late deliveries and failure to exceed the minimum stndards, and they refuse on the basis, that they don't have too, because, "The rule book says".
Well that is about all the grounds you need to not hire them.
