Victorian Pharmacy Authority + Australia Post + delivering S8 drugs? Go Figure.
The new (?) and better (?) Schedule 8 drugs.
This whole fucking thing is stupid.
"In addition, the VPA says it has written to Australia Post to clarify earlier correspondence on the illegality of sending S8 poisons by post.
“Australia Post has confirmed previous advice that the supply by post of controlled drugs within the meaning of the Crimes Act 1914 (in effect, S8 poisons) is illegal,” the VPA communique says. “Supply by a private courier company is acceptable”.
The crimes act - Sending S8 drugs / medicines from the Pharmacy by Australia Post
Yes and No and No.
I imagine like any other supply chain, S8 medicines usually need to be supplied for an important reason and fairly promptly.
Now in some ways I am not interested in the dictates of the delivery chain.
But I can also see the ludricrousness of it, or the application of it, or the insistence of it's application, relative to the current crime rate of Australia Post.
Now sending ANYTHING via Australia Post - with a PO or Point of Origin address, being a pharmacy or pharmacuitical supply company / warehouse - is asking for it's theft.
So sending out individual scripts - Mehhhh - personally I wouldn't use Australia Post, for on forwarding, but others might, but not from a pharmacy. Mmm K
Commercial quantities - via Australia Post? No fucking way.
Sending S8 goods by private couriers - sure thing.
If only to avoid Australia Post.
